I have a new job!
I'll be flying out to Germany for training on the 6th Feb and coming back with a shiny new car!
The Q is - does anyone here get paid in Euros to a UK account? I have to set up a separate business account too which will have a set amount paid in monthly for business expenses.
Any and all help/advice gratefully received!

You could have the money paid into your account monthly. The remitting and receiving bank will charge you and the money will be converted at the going rate from EURO to GBP.
You could set up a EURO account with your bank and receive the EUROs and convert at your leisure with your bank. Just remember to ask them how quickly they do conversions. This way you can manage the conversion rate at your leisure.
Same goes for the expenses but why does it have to be a business account?

Get yourself a very good accountant because your tax returns are going to be a bitch.

Yeah! I thought the accounts would be'interesting'
I've worked for offshore companies before but this is the first time I've not been paid in Sterling. Hopefully I can find a creative enough accountant so my tax bills will be small!

Good thing about Germany is their international payment charges are stupidly cheap.
There's a bit of European legislation that says an international payment can't be more than a domestic one, which is why chaps payments in the UK are 25 quid plus but Germany always had a tradition of their domestic payments being very cheap.

You could consider opening an account in Germany and having the money paid to you there before moving here, to manage the conversion rates. Although, I'm not sure what that would do to your tax status.

Anyway, my BFF at work is german, she's pretty awesome, I have no tips'n'tricks to dealing with germans though.
