What did your colleagues say about PS3 vs Xbox 360?

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:25, 1 reply, 14 years ago)
I never had time to enquire today.
Work has gone double mental and I'm trying to look for a new contract based on a number of key team members resigning today.

So I need to start looking for some work before I cock about playing games (although saying that, if I don't get a new contract, playing games might be just the thing to do!)
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:32, Reply)
You don't want to be doing those games Jeff
Just pop down the arcade and have a go on pac-man. It's just the same.

*Changes up 50p into 10p bits*

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:45, Reply)
In that case, as your attorney, I advise you to get a 360.
I presume you have an HD telly?
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:46, Reply)
I've got a 14" crt portable.
Maybe a new telly might be a better idea.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:46, Reply)
Although a job change is probably more pressing.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:47, Reply)
You're channelling Hunter S Thompson again....

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:51, Reply)
It's because I have Johnny Depp cheekbones.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:54, Reply)
And a fondness for Fruitellas.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:03, Reply)
The film didn't come close to the book though.
You'll have read "The Rum Diaries" I'm sure.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:02, Reply)
I thought the Fear and Loathing film was quite accurate actually.
And I haven't read Bum Diaries, sorry dudezilla.

I am currently reading Paul Auster.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:07, Reply)
What Auster?
I love some Auster, I hate some others.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:09, Reply)
The Book of Illusions.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:15, Reply)
That's OK but Auster gets all a bit samey
Try Mr Vertigo next - that's him breaking out of New York paranoia and going into another dimension. Splendid.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:24, Reply)
And don't you be kicking the bandit or you'll be out
It's a poor show when even Cavy and B3th aren't around in the evening.

No offence, ladies, but you're a constant in our lives.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:48, Reply)
Yeah, like ear hair.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:49, Reply)
And I'm gonna go to the gym in a bit.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 19:50, Reply)
it's OK - I'M HERE!
well for a bit before I paint more
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:02, Reply)
Cavy has the painters in.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:03, Reply)
I am the painter
what the hell euphemism is that?
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:03, Reply)
Rag week etc..

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:04, Reply)
A worrying one.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:04, Reply)
Oh my god I must be like Candyman or something.
I'm here now too!
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:06, Reply)
Hey b3th, I'm on on the job hunt.

(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:07, Reply)
Hey! Me too!
Found another one in tonight's paper.

so, are looking for a job or a new contract?
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:08, Reply)
Contract. Far more lucrative and it suits me at the moment.
I've found a job in The City that is pretty much exactly what I'm doing at the moment. So I'll speak to the agency tomorrow. The rate is a lot higher than I'm getting at the moment as well (well, the 'advertised' rate is, how much of that is to just get details from people remains to be seen).
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:10, Reply)
Well, if you do contracts you're still your own boss
and as long as you hit the deliverables, you've pretty much got autonomy over the project.
You could always go in asking for the advertised rate and agree to come down a bit so you look accommodating.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:12, Reply)
I tend to no get bogged down with the financials until I've got an offer.
Unless I need to pitch for the work on the basis of price. It's normally more lucrative to wait until they've said 'no' to the other candidates before arguing over money!
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:15, Reply)
Sounds fair enough.
You know your own market.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:17, Reply)
Not really.
Tell me about the one you're going to apply for.
(, Wed 1 Feb 2012, 20:19, Reply)
It's part of the fundraising team for a local hospice charity.
A little bit of all the things I like, and it's only twenty something hours a week.
I'm a bit maudlin tonight, so I'll leave it till tomorrow to do the application.
