I've just bought the soundtrack from folk horror classic Blood On Satan's Claw.
I've not listened to it yet, but it is supposed to be fantastic.
For TV themes you can't go wrong with Alan Hawkshaw, but I am partial to the odd bit of Tony Hatch.

Also, my favourite contemporary film music composer is Jóhann Jóhannsson
This is excellent: typerecords.com/releases/and-in-the-endless-pause-there-came-the-sound-of-bees-2
as is this: fatcat.sandbaghq.com/johann-johannsson-the-miners-hymns.html

I forgot about
Blow Up - Herbie Hancock
Get Carter - Roy Budd

Oh and of course John Barry, Ennio Morricone...
I think I like film music.

All of my suggestions are excellent.
Oh I've just thought of another one too:
Beyond The Valley of the Dolls - featuring the Strawberry Alarm Clock.
