It's not a very good one.The second cheapest normally has the highest markup, because restaurants know that people don't want to be seen as cheap.

Using my extensive knowledge of wineI usually order the house red/white. I find them to be perfectly acceptable.

This is normally the best course of option.If a restaurant is going to serve a shit wine as it's "house" wine, then that's probably the least of the problems you will experience.
