Italy for the food.
Cities - either;

Kathmandu - amazing place. Truly mad in a good way,
Hong Kong - lived there and loved it,
Moscow - very multi cultural with a great nightlife.
Edinburgh - relatively quiet yet many good places to go.

Hong Kong is mental.
Edinburgh is one of the few cities I could actually see myself living in.

We're planning on moving to Edinburgh in the next 2 years.

Lacist!
I went on a far east tour about 11 years ago with my ex and stayed in Kowloon. The whole place is fucking bonkers. A wander around a local market was quite an eye opener.

I remember going to a market with Mother Stunned and asking why all the
animals were in cages, until I saw a couple of chickens get dragged out, their heads lopped off and stuffed in a bag for a punter.

Yeah that was a bit... brutal.
They did the same with fish - kept in a big bucket of water and then hauled out onto a slab. I suppose at least it's fresh that way...

I walked past several cages piled on top of each other and realised that the contents were moving. Closer inspection revealed it to be hundreds and hundreds of frogs.

Have you been to Venice?

(, Tue 21 Feb 2012, 14:21, Reply)
Not yet.

It is stunning and off the beaten track the food and the wine is tops.

But if you go off the beaten track in Venice
make sure you wear your wellies (well full Scuba outfit for preference)

Haha. Sometimes you run out of pavement because it disappears into the water.
