You dirty stopout

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:25, 1 reply, 12 years ago)
AND I just ate two doughnuts
which I got for ONE PENCE. Man, I live on the edge
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:27, Reply)
If you swap the doughnuts for hard drugs.
You could be Barry.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:28, Reply)
i'm not sure I could handle the pace

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:28, Reply)
Were the band good?

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:29, Reply)
yeah, really good
it was a little place, but they are just starting and have a really good sound. Downside is they found themselves supporting a band of 16 year olds
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:30, Reply)
There is little dignity in being in bands whe you're in your thirties.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:31, Reply)
I reckon they can go far if they stick at it
They're recording soon, I may post a link
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:33, Reply)
Being good isn't always enough for a band to do well
But do post some stuff.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:37, Reply)
yeah, they know that well enough
they've all got band experience.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:39, Reply)
No harm in that.
Unless it was a youth club.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:31, Reply)
nah
to be fair they were annoyingly talented 16 year olds. Needed work on their vocals and stuff, but there were a couple of really good musicians amongst them
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:34, Reply)
I saw some metal band ages ago in a pub made up of mostly 'yoof'
I'll try and find a link to them.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:35, Reply)
The singer doesn't look old enough to hold down a paper round

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:36, Reply)
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
they look like 1st year 6th formers at most
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:38, Reply)
I've got no idea how the singer can make that noise.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:43, Reply)
You should see some of the acts that get played on the radio these days.
They look like they're only just getting used to long trousers.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:48, Reply)
Alright grandad

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:49, Reply)
Seriously though, do an image search for One Direction and tell me I'm wrong.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:55, Reply)
Pop music is a young man's game

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:57, Reply)
Young and talented?
They can fuck off then.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:35, Reply)
well don't worry
life will wear them down soon enough.

Ironically they played 'Summer of 69' which made us oldies, who hadn't brought our mums with us, lol muchly
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:37, Reply)
Oh
They sound terrible now
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:38, Reply)
they weren't exactly a great band
just the guitarist and the drummer were pretty impressive, especially for ones so young. Hopefully they will get better influences soon
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:40, Reply)
I once played in the same bill as a young band who showed great potential like that
Their music was nothing special - generic blues rock - but they played reasonably well enough for me to remark that if they got hold of some good records and absorbed some good influences they could one day be good.
They didn't. They grew up to be The Enemy. It transpired that they only managed to get hold of Oasis and Jam records. I was very wrong.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:46, Reply)
so what you're saying is that
we should have done the world a favour by locking these guys in a room and forcing them to listen to good music?
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:48, Reply)
I think the lesson here
Is to lock them in a room and forget about them.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:50, Reply)
stupid young people

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:57, Reply)
A mate of mine sings a bit.

His own stuff is better though.

I quite like the track Mo Chairde Go Leir

Couldn't make the link to his own stuff work
But the other link was terrible. He's old enough to know better.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:55, Reply)
I'll find you another link.
Hang on!

No, sorry
That is pretty bad.
Someone please preserve us from singer-songwriters.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 23:02, Reply)
Is this any better?
soundcloud.com/kaplanyorks/melancholy-looped-guitar
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 23:10, Reply)
Marginally
It was over before it did anything.
There are others who do the whole loop station thing much better.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 23:16, Reply)
William Basinski, for instance.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 23:23, Reply)
He's got a good voice
not sure he's singing what is suited for it
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:57, Reply)
I'm led to believe he was 'told' what he had to sing.
I'm amazed he's ever heard of the song he did on the telly.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 22:57, Reply)
He should delete his account and kill himself
And I should stop replying over on this side
