Con Air's brilliance comes from everything that isn't Nicholas Cage, really.

Both Malkovich & Buscemi's brilliance are over-shadowed by Cage
Even so, despite all the black marks against him, I'm ashamed to admit that he's done a couple of brilliant films though - Bad Lieutenant & The Rock to name 2 of his redeeming features
