Newcastle is a great place and with a bit of investment could host a couple things.
But you're not help making your point by mentioning Gateshead stadium. It's an absolute fucking dump.

I haven't seen much improvement.
And I've been in and around East London where the games are going to be - Clapton, Shoreditch, Hackney, Mile End, Bethnel Green etc - loads the past month or so. I honestly wouldn't know there'd been improvements unless someone told me. That said the new Kings Cross and London Bridge concourses are nice. Don't make a difference to the actual travelling, mind.
