Not remotely
Entirely self taught.

No lessons?
You must be rubbish then.

Actually I can play the piano quite well
around a grade 6, if that means anything to you. Sax around a 3-4, guitar...not so much.

I had piano lessons for more than ten years
And have achieved grade seven.
Yet I am rubbish at playing the piano. Most self-taught players are better than me.
I never really did more than learn then practice what I needed to pass each grade. If I had more time I would try to rectify this.

My parents couldn't afford lessons, let alone anything for me to practise on
I taught myself at school out of sheer bloody-mindedness, because I was sick of one so-called 'mate' lording it over me because her parents could afford it and mine couldn't. I got some inheritance money when I turned 21 and bought a nice little Clavinova.

You've got a lovely little Clavinova.
