I think he should be satisfied with that.

I can see where this might have gone wrong. I'm concerned you pointed him in my direction.

It would have taken too long to explain so I suggested he asked you as you were familiar with the tale anyway.

You've got to admire their achievements.
I won't be surprised if - by the end of next season - Andy Carroll looks like a bargain.

I've heard something which said that the main reason his form was poor for so long was due to the ankle injury he had never really subsiding, and that he'd never been shown how to run properly to avoid injury. I'd mock that report, but I know that I only broke my foot because of the way I was running.
As a result, his injury finally started to clear up around Christmas time, his performances improved, and when he regained confidence, well, look at how he played against Chelsea.
Could be bollocks for all I know, but it does make a certain amount of sense.

you can't blame Liverpool for taking such a massive punt on him, I guess, in the first half of that season he was phenomenal for Newcastle. I am still to be convinced that he actually wanted to leave, though.

The weight of expectation can't have helped at all, either.

I think even Pardew would acknowledge that now, although he wasn't happy at the time.

Either way, still a fucking huge amount of money

Not exactly a huge difference...

It makes me laugh how they bleat on about justice for the 96 (which I firmly agree with, there has to be answers) yet I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen Scousers jib into Craven Cottage without tickets. It's hilarious how un self aware they are.

They tried a similar trick.
It wasn't a success.

But my club hasn't suffered the tragedy they have due to overcrowding in a stadium and I'm not demanding justice for those that lost their lives in that awful incident.

If it wasn't for you taking that spare ticket off me, we'd have been a man down last season.
Next time you come down, bring your boots, I might be able to get you a game.

I did really enjoy that afternoon, mind. Made a nice change.

And it got us out of the pub for a couple of hours.

I think I may have to hit the sack, I've been up since 7 and haven't stopped all day, apart from for 90 minutes.

She was drafted onto a week's residential activity thing in Windermere with the school at the last minute.
