I heard they were changing the connection from the standard apple one to a completely different one
so you'll have to upgrade all your chargers and other stuff.

As new phones tend to come with a charger that'll be no problem.
My iPad has a different charger to my iPhone anyway (same shape different voltage) and I have a blackberry (work phone) that I have to charge as well, that also uses yet another type of charger.

To be fair, they've kept it the same since the FIRST _ipod_
It's now too big for the phone and the new one, which is usb3, will have charging and data transfer rates of up to 20 times faster.
