I agree with Darth here.
America consistently produced most of the best music of the 90s.

If Dozer and I agree on music it must be beyond contestation

I think you are referring to different bands though.

Ssssshhhhhh
Don't spoil the moment
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:42, Reply)
different bands I think but the statement is still true.

Nah, Sleeper produced all of the best music of the 90's

Louise Wener gave me serious bobbing dongle back in the day

Have you seen her now
Her face looks like a novelty candle that got left too close to a radiator.

Still would though rite?

Fuck yeah! I gave up standards four belt notches ago

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:49, Reply)
They also produced Nirvana, which counts against them

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:45, Reply)
And Green Day

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:47, Reply)
I guarantee you that for every 90s American band you can cite as an embarrassment,
I can come up with a much, much worse 90s British band.

Before we start I should point out that I get to use Oasis a hundred times.

Maybe true
But the Brits win with the 60's and 70's bands
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:48, Reply)
Yeah, probably
but I didn't have to live through the music of the 60s and 70s and was able to revisit and cherry-pick at my leisure. I'm still considering suing Radio 1 for mental scarring inflicted during my teens.
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:51, Reply)
This is a silly claim.

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:51, Reply)
I agree with Sherlock

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:54, Reply)
Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd (shut up monty), Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, The Who,
etc etc
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:55, Reply)
It's pointless listing a load of bands
I'm not arguing that either country is better than the other. My point is that, during that period particularly, there was a great bouncing back and forth of ideas and influences in both directions across the Atlantic, producing great results on both sides.
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 11:02, Reply)
Yeh but the Brits were better.
*Sticks fingers in ears*
(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 11:05, Reply)
Cast are worse than every band ever.

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:54, Reply)
They were alright

(, Wed 4 Jul 2012, 10:55, Reply)
If John Power was hit by a falling train that also took out a nursery school full of kids I would consider them collateral damage.
