The whole question of "if you were someone for a day what would you do?" is somewhat redundant as, presumably, if you were someone for a day you'd be subject to their normal thought processes anyway, so everything would just be the same.

Like when I split form my ex, people would say, "If I were you..." Which is ridiculous, because if they were me they'd be doing exactly as I was. I think a better phrase to use might be, "If I were in your position this is what I would do..."
