srsly Gonz
Do you never think that your bowel condition is exacerbated by all the rich food you eat?

Donno what is rich in that, there was only a touch of fat to lubricate the wok.
Not saying it was healthy, but it wasn't unhealthy.

And normally when I have rich food; or food that I know would set me off, I keep in mind that the next day I'll have pains and problems... in the exact same way someone drinks to excess and knows they'll have a hang-over.

But people don't tend to go to hospital or need opiates when they're hungover.

(, Sun 22 Jul 2012, 12:02, Reply)
I take the opiates reguarly, I don't take much more or much less depending on what I've eaten; I take almost the exact amount no matter what I've eaten.
And I don't go to hospital on the basis of what I've eaten.

Why is it acceptable to drink eaither to excess and/or reguarly; something that has no need under normal curcamstances in order to live. And why isn't it acceptable to comment on this. Yet, the oppersite being true when it comes to someone with an illness and food? Especially an illness where the inflaimation activity (ie, the cause of symptons) have no link to intake of food?

if I had liver issues I wouldn't drink
If I had kidney issues I wouldn't do ecstasy.

Even if they weren't linked, purely because I wouldn't want to put additional strain on a problematic organ.

You don't need drink and exstasy to live; you do need food.
And what a horrible existance it would be if you could only have plain borring foods and nothing else.
(, Sun 22 Jul 2012, 12:38, Reply)
you do need food, but not rich foods like crab claws or blue cheese sauces.

(, Sun 22 Jul 2012, 12:55, Reply)
Whats rich about crab claws?
So do you expect me to only eat for nutrition for the rest of my life? I'm pretty sure your understand of chrones is not in relation to the reality of living with it. Even objectivly, if I had a son with chrones, I would rather him eat a meal he enjoys every now and then than get wasted on booze and Es.
(, Sun 22 Jul 2012, 13:07, Reply)
I'm using that as an example.
You often post about stuff you've eaten and most of it would give me a dicky tummy if I ate it. I suppose I'm saying that if you have sensitive guts you should maybe stick to plainer foods and have the nicer stuff only occasionally.

And if my son had Chrohn's disease I wouldn't let him smoke, it makes it worse

I'm not entirely sure you have an understand of chrones or what rich food is.
It appears you're mixing up 'rich food' with '[interesting/unusal/different] food'. I don't post up everything I eat, I only post up the things that I consider that I want to mention. I don't eat rich food every week, and in fact, when my stomach is worst than usual, I tend to go on a very plain diet. It is extremely rare I finish a normal sized meal too, extremely rare.

Food has no long term effect on my condition beyond how would effect anyone else.

Although what I'm about to say is not the case with you, the majority of people who drink or take drugs to excess have mental illnesses, such as depression and paranoia. It is not socially acceptable to mention their intake of these toxins exasperating their condition, but its perfectly fine for them to take on mine. Yet, what they're doing is a 100 fold worst for them than what I do for me.

The truth is, we all need pleasures in life, mine is food. It is by a great mangatude a better thing to take pleasure from than drugs and excessive booze.

Erm, Gonz, love
almost all Crohns sufferers can see at least some alleviation of symptoms if they change their diet to exclude certain things.
(, Sun 22 Jul 2012, 14:32, Reply)
But what though? I haven't found a specific thing that sets me off.
I've gone through years experimenting to find that key ingredient for me to cut out, and haven't found one specific thing.

and if they stop smoking.
