I only really lurk and post occasionally, so people probably won't listen to me.
I reckon a better solution would be that the "Ignore" button also means that people you have on ignore can't reply to your posts, basically blocking them. Would mean that you can still have replies etc, but if you're sick to death of people trolling you, it's your choice to remove them from your posts (or not remove them).
Means people can't moan either way about trolls, because it's their choice and they're in control of who can & can't reply to you.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE. (or censorship by the sensitive.)

Lets be honestLegless wouldn't stick them on ignore anyway, he has too much fun with them. But I reckon it'd solve a few problems at least. Most of the trolls would get bored if they couldn't reply to the people they offend most, and would soon skulk back to talk.
And if people get so sensitive they would block people left right, and centre, sooner or later they'd end up getting bored and remove themselves from QOTW, so the only people really suffering would be them anyway.
