I worked for a well know recycling company which advertises 24hour payment (or they did, dunno if they still do) but were taking 2-3 weeks to pay. Someone needed the money sooner so I helpfully informed them that on this particular occasion an equally well know competitor were paying within 24hours as promised. The management weren't to happy so did me for gross misconduct.

I'd already handed in my notice and only had about 4days left to work so I wasn't to bothered.
