And that argument is based on a system which was set in place before digital distribution even existed.
Law's aren't right because they're laws you know, things change, and I'm of the opinion that this is one of those thing that has changed, and the law should reflect what's happened not try to stop it.

Legal definition of theft is taking something with the intention of depriving the owner.
torrenting isn't theft unless you were planning to buy the item and then you're depriving the owner of a sale.
