I'll go back and do a masters on Blank Generation fiction when I can afford it.
And I constantly have at least two books on the go, so lolling at the 'for those who read a lot' comment. There's a fairly big difference between reading SF and Fantasy and reading literary fiction.

I find the term 'genre novels' really funny by the way.
I have no real beef with SF as a genre; I like William Gibson and I love JG Ballard. But the whole epic novels thing is just really fucking childish. I'm posting from my phone so don't really fancy outlining my critical objections to 'genre novels', but I very much do know what I'm talking about.
