Your thoughts on the West Coast music scene?
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:27, 1 reply, 13 years ago)
if it's what you guys are chatting about I don't recognise any of i9t, sorry
Dead Kennedys, nirvana and ICP ars the only back mentioned thus far I've listened to, oh I think I borrowed a sonic youth album once.

heard of some of thye rest, but don't know them, sorry.

Oh my sister bought me a fugazi album for a birthday present, it struck my as terribly dull and worthy and not much fun.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:37, Reply)
ICP though, eh? Great hip hop band, could teach Gang Starr a thing or two!

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:39, Reply)
I find them fun, as I know you know.
I understand why people don't like them or mock them, this bothers me not at all if i let other people's opinions govern my music taste, or indeed anything about my life it's all be so much less fun.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:42, Reply)
there is nothing fun about shit music.
Soz etc etc.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:44, Reply)
and, as I have attempted to explain many a time, these things are relative.
unless we are arguing about technical proficiency, in which case someone like steve vai is probably the best musician of all time, but life is just not worth living.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:47, Reply)
technical proficiency is for losers.
Ever heard Mix Master Mike's solo stuff? Tedious as fuck.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:49, Reply)
my point exactly
all else is personal taste, grown ups agree to differ, twelve-year-olds get into pointless arguments about who's better.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:51, Reply)
no, YOU smell.
No returns.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:53, Reply)
You surprise me.
I can imagine you leaping around to Fugazi back in the early 90s.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:41, Reply)
Fugazi = no moustaches.

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:42, Reply)
maybe if I'd come across them back than I would have
maybe I'm influenced by the fact my sister is dull and worthy
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:43, Reply)
They are indeed a little dull and worthy
That's Straight Edge for you.
But there are some good songs too
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:45, Reply)
I'm sure there are
happy to take recomendations. I don't have much time for strait edge TBH, pretty pointless.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:48, Reply)
that's how I feel about Steampunk.

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:50, Reply)
not overly into it myself either.
in other news I have no interest in traveling around the world, in 80 days or otherwise
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:52, Reply)
I've been lied to.

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:53, Reply)
Too busy with his inventions.

He may have a wolf and stars t shirt, but I have a Wilf and stars one.

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:55, Reply)
lots with skulls on, does that count?

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:56, Reply)
yes, yes it does.
Do you wear Lynx Africa, play Warhammer and work in IT?
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:58, Reply)
never, I played a rel;ated game many years ago and not really, in that order
ETA: I do quite like EMV though
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:59, Reply)
EMV is great value.

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 23:02, Reply)
he's a nice chap

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 23:03, Reply)
he's an ironically irony-free cretin

(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 23:12, Reply)
Me neither
Sobriety can get to fuck.
I prefer my music with drink and drugs.
(, Tue 23 Oct 2012, 22:53, Reply)
oh indeed.
it's not mandatory, but it does seem to produce better music, on average.
