Just insert a half a dozen or so cartridges in a row and then start shooting?

Essentially it's the same system that a semi-automatic pistol uses. A pump action is a manual loading system.

The semi, just means you have to pull the trigger each time. Full auto is basically a machine gun.

That would be scary.

And why would you want a fully automatic shotgun? I mean, apart from "It's cool" surely a shotgun isn't the right sort of gun if you are in a situation where you require fully automatic weapons?

Not much use for anything else.

I can say that it's "terrifying".

Am I right in thinking that some assault rifles, like AK-47 or M16 or the shit one that UK troops use, have the option of being semi or full auto?
( , Mon 29 Oct 2012, 15:16, Reply)

That's the primary difference between assault rifles like the M15 and automatic rifles like our own SA-80.

In encourages aimed shots and saves ammo.

it was a problem when I was in the cadets about 15 years ago. I seem to remember they made a variant with the breech on the other side. I haven't exactly been keeping up since then.
