It depends, the Active and Smart ones can be really good, but they ain't cheap.(

A family sat around with expensive extra glasseswatching movies where they add a few scenes to make it 3D but generally adds little or nothing to storyline, and for that reason I’m out.

The coolest thing I've seen done is with the passive ones you can watch two things at the same time with headphones.Not worth the money though.
