That is really annoying"Hey we tried it, we've reviewed the results, and they weren't what we wanted so we're going to try something else" would be fantastic. Instead it's all "we've staked our reputation on this so we're pressing on regardless" despite the fact that since everybody knows it's not working they've lost face anyway and are just making it worse.

basically they are too ignorant and/or arrogant to admit it's not workingOR they think it is working, because it is working for them. see the politicians who insist that the european union and the euro are working fabulously because they like their lifestyles...
