what's with the windows?
do they not like daylight in MK?
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:30, 2 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Dunno, I'm on the first floor anyway so don't care.

I noticed this with at least one other property you've linked.
it's very odd, like windows cost massive amounts of money of something. even the 1st floor windows are pretty small.

(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:37, Reply)

It's still medieval times in Milton Keynes

New builds always have tiny windows as this is more energy efficient
shit to live in though
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:32, Reply)
this is why I'm not living in anything built since the war.
they all just look shit and wrong.
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:34, Reply)
that's silly, flats from the mid 20th C can have massive windows

(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:35, Reply)
I'm open to exceptions.
but I don't remember seeing anything nice looking built since the 1930s and given a choice I'd go Victorian all the way.
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:37, Reply)
this does not surprise me

(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:37, Reply)
what can I say?
I was brought up in houses with high ceilings and nice big windows. anything else feels claustrophobic

Most new builds are awful
However there are decent building companies out there, I liked the Charles Church one that Sporto was thinking about buying on the coast last year.

So much identikit crap, without any architectural merit

That's what thirties flatblocks and housing estates were in the thirties.

(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:39, Reply)
Did I say they were'nt. Although my block is '30s and is pretty unique
We should have learned planning lessons by now though
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:40, Reply)
No, but most of the stuff from the past was fairly uniform, too.
You can't really get away from it when you're building on a large scale.

Man, you're so defensive today, Nakers. Are you blobbing?
(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:42, Reply)
nah, but I have dealt witha lot of shit today

(, Mon 28 Jan 2013, 16:51, Reply)
Nonsense, the bullying has been relatively light today.
