What's that Coldplay song, Lavender Hill?
Pendulum did a cover of that. I say "cover", what they did was do a standard Pendulum song (some might say Pendulum's only song) and then sing the lyrics to Lavender Hill along to it.

I *wanted* to like it, but I just couldn't because it used all the same components as every other Pendulum track.

Violet Hill
The Pendulum version was ace. As was their upgrade of Linkin Park's "The Catalyst"

Had there not been the lyrics to Violet Hill on it, Darth
You wouldn't have been able to distinguish between that and Slam.

STOP THE INTERNET
Nakers is wrong about something, I think we all need to take a moment to absorb the shock of this unexpected chain of events.

you are the only person that likes them, soz
they are generic, repeatative and dull and definately NOT drum and Bass
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:21, Reply)
You're right about the last point
They're far too good to be classified as drum'n'bass
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:22, Reply)
you know that you have undermined any of your musical arguments by listening to sadcore

You're thinking of Plumdozer
and now I must kill you

Are Combi Christ not Sadcore?
and you don't dance like this:

Watched about 5 seconds of that video and had to turn it off
Got scared.

I honestly don't know what's classified as Sadcore but CombiChrist it ain't. They're commonly described as Aggrotech or EBM (I know, don't get me started) but there ain't much that's sad about their music.
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:34, Reply)
Aggrotech? That would explain their track "tractor"

Spit it out man.

(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:36, Reply)
Hehehe
That's quite good.

You know, for you.

Sadcore is just a gay renaming of Slowcore.
And, despite the Dozer connection, includes some great bands.
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:36, Reply)
Can you give me some examples?
Am not taking the piss, genuinely curious.
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:44, Reply)
The basic idea of the genre was, rather than playing faster and louder than everyone else, they would play slower and quieter.
It may not be to your tastes, but try Low or Codeine or The Red House Painters.
RHP are towards the maudlin end of the scale, so don't listen to them while you are coming off your meds.
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:48, Reply)
Already off them but thank you for the words of warning
Will give these bands a listen in the interests of openmindedness, thank you

You can say that about any band or style of music that doesn't interest you though
"All their songs sound the same" is an accusation levelled at pretty much everyone at some point. I bet I could happily say that about several bands that you like, when what I really mean is "I don't like this band enough to listen to them for very long"
(, Thu 28 Feb 2013, 15:17, Reply)
I quite liked Slam.
And they released another track, and another track and then I thought, wait a minute, they used that exact drum loop in this other song.

As since I started hearing it, I've never been able to un-hear it.
