Right, new thread for some reason
On my lunch break I was unfortunate enough to hear the abomination that is Scissor Sister's mangling of "Comfortably Numb". Is this the worst cover version of all time? I'm saying probably not, I think that has to go to All Saints' "Under The Bridge". What say you?
Alt: Best cover version. Please say something more inventive than "Hurt" by Johnny Cash, yes I know I'm the only person in the world who prefers the original.

The Glee cover of 'Don't Stop Believing' is pretty spectacularly bad.
Any of the Marilyn Manson covers too, all fucking awful. Especially Tainted Love. Also, Girls Aloud cover of I'll Stand By You. How Deep Is Your Love was shit in the first place, but Take That made it worse.

What's that Coldplay song, Lavender Hill?
Pendulum did a cover of that. I say "cover", what they did was do a standard Pendulum song (some might say Pendulum's only song) and then sing the lyrics to Lavender Hill along to it.
I *wanted* to like it, but I just couldn't because it used all the same components as every other Pendulum track.

The basic idea of the genre was, rather than playing faster and louder than everyone else, they would play slower and quieter.
It may not be to your tastes, but try Low or Codeine or The Red House Painters.
RHP are towards the maudlin end of the scale, so don't listen to them while you are coming off your meds.

You can say that about any band or style of music that doesn't interest you though
"All their songs sound the same" is an accusation levelled at pretty much everyone at some point. I bet I could happily say that about several bands that you like, when what I really mean is "I don't like this band enough to listen to them for very long"

Like how “Ice ice baby” ripped off Queens “Under pressure”

I can't listen to Rick Jame's "Superfreak" because of MC Hammer.
*EDIT* I think the original artist should be allowed to vet the material before they let people sample their trackS

The only thing that's purely retarded.
Is they go on about stopping buisness from appealing against local peoples objections for planning permission. And then also saying we'll build more power plants.

Best: Hendrix's 'All Along the Watchtower' /ac
Of course. I did hear a superb US 60s garageband cover of 'Can't Explain' be the 'Oo, last week though.
Also, Steve Hillage's cover of Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan is excellent, especially on Live Herald. The Butthole Surfers' cover of the same song is good too. The original is well shit.
