I recently sanded off some peeling paint and used a "damp resistant" paint to cover it upthe idea was that when we sell out house the sucker that buys it won't notice the annoying damp problem in the kitchen.

As a rule, I always try and do a good jobbut I'm not going to the effort of dealing with localised damp in a house that's 180 years old.
