Well the other thing to do is to keep building houses until house prices only rise with inflation.That means building tens of millions of decent houses though.

Where this plan consistently falls downIs that some bright spark developer realises that what they are building is far too nice to be wasted on plebs, so they bump the prices up and sell them to rich folks instead.
