I could send some to you so you can use the correct ingredients.
Did you just make a gallon?
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:37, Reply)
Nah it's ok, probably not worth the postage.
I can get hold of it, I just couldn't get it from the one shop I went to on the way home

I ma seriously dubious that home made wine will be very nice
and "wine" made from tea?
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:50, Reply)
I made some the other day from a Kit.
It's been in the box for a week and it currently tastes like Blossom hill. Which is obviously shit but it should get better over the next three to six months to the point where it's drinkable table wine for 60p a bottle.

Tea has a lot of tannins which give a wine body
The flavour you end up with is nothing like tea, much like wine tastes nothing like grape juice. Its actually quite nice otherwise I wouldn't bother making it.

You start it in a fermentation bucket and transfer it in to several demijohns
Or you can do what I have done and make a 5 gallon demijohn out of a 5 gallon pressure barrel.

can I be in this boring subthread too?
thanks
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:55, Reply)
No, sorry.

That kit is too expensive
You can buy the lot in my local Tesco for half that
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:56, Reply)
And you don't need the bucket and the fermenter
one or the other does the same job with wine
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:58, Reply)
I might just get this

I don't really need another syphon or the rest. I think that's pretty good on it's own.
(, Wed 3 Apr 2013, 15:58, Reply)
Thats pretty much what I use
The pressure barrel has a tap so I don't need to syphon, its ideal
