oh right,well, i just looked it up and i think a reason it might be popular is because it is the most valuable jump race in Europe, with a prize fund of £975,000 in 2013, also i just found out that it has been going since 1839 so, as sporting traditions go, that has to be one of your older sporting traditions.
i hope this answers some of your questions, you may find in life that people are interested in things that you aren't, it is best to not get upset about these things i find xx

It's too late, I'm already very upset.I got so upset I posted about it on the internet to let everyone know how upset I was.
