Inbreeding is a massive problem in Finland for similar reasons.98% (or something) of Finns can be traced back to two medieval families, they have virtually no immigrants so their gene pool is fucked: as a result their instances of flid babies are about 10 times higher than normal.

A mate of mine is descended from Finns and married an Indian girl.The list of hereditary diseases they had to have their kids tested for was longer than Battered's inside leg.
