Course I have.
I've been 15 times already. I just love the chamaeleon of pop. He's so avant garde and 'ahead of the curve'. One of the best pieces of wanker journalism I've ever read concerned his recent album: the utter cunt writing it actually claimed that the 15 years silence between his last LP and this one 'was almost a piece of conceptual art in itself'. Jesus shitting Christ.

Pfft
Someone sent me a link to the Top 100 tracks of the eighties according to NME t'other day. I quite like Joy Division/New Order but they had about five entries in the top 20 or sutin. They weren't that fucking good.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:31, Reply)
Joy Division are one of my favourite bands ever.
I'm quite the obsessive fan.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:31, Reply)
That's funny because they're fucking dreadful.
Ian Curtis was tone fucking deaf, looked like a prick and his 'stage prescence' was like watching a mongol having an eppy.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:34, Reply)
He was the best one and all.
Pretty sure he WAS a mongol having an eppy though.

At least he had the good manners to kill himself.
Spared me the bother.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:38, Reply)
I believe we have to agree to disagree here about the dreadfulness, though not about the vocal talents of Ian Curtis.

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:35, Reply)
Oh come on. It must have been like watching Battered sing karaoke.
With a Manc accent.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:36, Reply)
I find their music achingly beautiful acksherly
I could bore you with the reasons why but time and space do not permit.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:39, Reply)
Thank Christ for that

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:40, Reply)
A ringing endorsement, if ever there was one.

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:34, Reply)
I like them too, but in the eighties I also liked Five Star and the Axel F theme
AND WHERE WERE THEY IN THE TOP 20, HUH?
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:35, Reply)
My top 100 80s records would be almost all hip hop, a few neo-psych acts like Loop and some '88 acid house records.

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:36, Reply)
Needs MOAR Billy Ocean

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:42, Reply)
My top 100 80s records would, inevitably, include most of Liquid Liquid's output, JAMC, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Temptation by New Order, a fair few Public Enemy records and a smattering of Detroit techno.
Actually, dunno if I could do 100. 50 definitely.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:41, Reply)
haha, you listen to shit music

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:45, Reply)
haha you're a dull prick

I'm just checking 'em.

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:52, Reply)
woah

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:52, Reply)
They were total shit.
Was that top 100 based on a fans poll, a critics poll or sale?
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:35, Reply)
Dunno
Deffo not sales, unless it was 12" sales as Blue Monday was No1. I'd expect the same result from people who write for NME and people who read NME. NME made me think I should like Dinosaur Jr back in the day, still not sure if I should or not.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:37, Reply)
No, they're shit and all.
People latched onto them as 'good' because everything else was so terminally shit. To this day idiots claim J Mascis is an 'amazing guitarist'. Amazingly shit, maybe.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:39, Reply)
Quality guitarist

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:40, Reply)

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:51, Reply)
That's the Del Tha Funkee Homosapien track, right?
I taped that album way back when it came out. My favourite tracks on it are that Slayer & Ice T track, the Biohazard & Onyx one and the Helmet & House of Pain one. Page Hamilton is another boss guitarist an' all.
(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:53, Reply)
I like Del and indeed all those Hieroglyphics kids

(, Tue 23 Apr 2013, 10:54, Reply)
Me too.
Not overly keen on that track he did for Handsome Boy Modeling School, but he's an otherwise dependable emcee.
