Don't get me wrong, your example isn't close to healthy living, but necking random pills found on a toilet floor can lead to something so horrific, that nobody here knows what physical-pain is, in comparison.

This was powder in a drug bag - had they been pills I wouldn't have gone near them
This was quite definitely recreational drugs of some kind, and there was most of it gone so it's owner had taken them and lived*.
