let's call it a 'wall'. They can write a 'status report' of what they're up to, or add videos, pictures etc.
The rest of us could then comment or ignore as we choose.
Maybe keep the 'like' button and 'friend' facility that we have on here.
Seriously though, I don't think it's the site that's the problem. The site itself was just the same back in what we now consider /qotw and /OT's heyday. It's mostly just down to a large number of interesting/fun posters leaving, and more trolls moving in.
Alt: I choose Edinburgh. I'd wander over to DJ and Roota's, and mooch off them for a day.
AltAlt: really fucking badly.

People are always going to slowly drift away, but the site no longer draws the crowds it once did.

Then I stopped looking at it for a few years, occasionally dropping in for the odd newsletter, or a browse around links. Then I was hospitalised for a few months and started posting on talk to try kill the boredom.
