Ladypig has suggested a couple of days in London. Can anyone suggest a hotel? Nothing too expensive, driving is no issue as we have the disabled stickers to park wherever and I don't mind paying congestion charge on a birthday jaunt. Also any awesome things to do mid week.

As for things to do - fuck me, where to begin - other than with 'what are you into?'

Also, I imagine being in Shoreditch might mean I have to punch my way through crowds of people in vintage clothing

Dinner and drinks in the evening. If you can find me a gig as well that would be nice.

somewhere like brockwell park - bit out of the way but still zone 2 so an easy drive or overland train, really nice and far fewer fucking tourists pissing around
or walk all along the river from hammersmith to barnes, then sit in a nice pub and have a drink
richmond is awesome - has beautiful park as well as richmond hill, there is a little boat you get across the river, lovely old garden centre for wandering around (sounds gash but trust me it's stunning) and then you walk across a meadow to an italian ice cream shop and numerous old pubs
