I had a pub conversation that I thought was good before I sobered up.Which was to have MP wages fixed to 10x the minimum wage.

There is an economic argument for linking the minimum wage to the maximum wageI can't remember it though.

how could you have a maximum wage?how can you stop someone who owns a company from paying their staff or themselves what they want?

You could legislate to cap wages, but that wasn't really the point.The point is more to keep wages in proportion, so if the CEO wants to award himself a 20% pay rise, then the lowest earners in the company also get a 20% pay rise.
