Fucking hell, just looked at some of the prices on that site.
The shoes are about four times what I normally pay even at their 50% off price :(

Recession? What recession?

Good shoes are an investment. Have a look at Oliver Sweeny shoes. Best. Ever.
Church's are also good for work shoes with a suit.

I do a lot of walking and tend to keep wearing the soles through on mine,
can't really justify spending a few hundred on something that only lasts me six months

New leather soles cost £30

(, Mon 15 Jul 2013, 21:50, Reply)
Why the hell would you want leather soles?
From what I've seen they look like polished wood and have a habit of sending you arse over tit down flights of stairs.

They very quickly loose their sheen and grip just fine

And are much more comfortable / lighter to walk around in. Also, your feet breathe more easily.

Oh okay.
However still on the brink of going full-on vegan and internet ordering some kind of unwearable shit made out of recycled tyres, so I can be even more self-righteous in my discomfort.

Was this to me, or the person who mentioned hardcore rubber action?

(, Mon 15 Jul 2013, 22:03, Reply)
You need to ask?

(, Mon 15 Jul 2013, 22:11, Reply)
Hang on, there's absolutely nothing gay about cotton shoes with recycled tyre soles.
They perfectly compliment my FABULOUS wardrobe.

This.
The most hard-wearing footwear I've ever had was an old pair of work boots, they lasted nearly 7 years.
