my mum gave us distressingly healthy packed lunches. it would be egg or no added salt peanut butter or ham on granary bread, with salad, and fruit for pudding. and fruit juice, but never the tropical ones from the pack, as they had added sugar. every single other kid in the room had better lunches :(

i always have to bite my tongue when i see my friends with kids refusing them any form of chocolate etc. if they see it as forbidden or a treat, you're possibly storing up a bit of trouble later on. but they're not my kids, so meh.
