It's got nothing to do with the price, the fit is the key thing.

These were actually far more than I needed to pay; I just really liked them. But I'll mostly keep them for the treadmill, after what the physio said about my feet - imma go to a proper running shop and buy some that give support where needed

get them to do a gair analysis. I found "Run and Become" down by St James Park (round the corner from Sctoland Yard) an excellent shop, but the Marathon Shop in Covent Garden is also pretty decent.

Although I'd rather eat one than run one

Most of the recent research says that the more "support" your shoes give, the more likely you are to end up with serious joint problems. Your foot is a superbly designed running machine, messing with it makes things worse not better.

Humph, load of garbage, I ran 5 times a week for 50 years and I pronate, it's perfectly normal, grumble grumble
Me: hmm and how are the new titanium knees?
Lighty, did you just cite Wikipedia as a source? I never had you down as a wiki warrior

The key point is, I think, if you run correctly you don't need fancy shoes. But you have to learn to run correctly - before the advent of running shoes people did fine because they had no choice but to run the right way.

And there's a lot of stuff in there about natural running.

People had flat feet, over pronated, under pronated and all they could do is suck it up and suffer serious leg pains and not be as good a runner as they could be if they lived now and had better shoes.
Barefoot runners can't run super long distances without fucking themselves up.

That's utter bullshit and you know it.
