Hash is resin, weed is herbal.
Different effects; resin gets you more drowsy stoned, weed gets you more 'high' stoned. You know, like how the drunkenness from wine is different to the drunkenness from beer.

Back in my day it was the other way round. Used to be really quite something to get weed in. The quality of hash tended to be quite poor- you know, bits of plastic in it etc etc.

When pollen was doing the rounds that was lovely stuff.

Weed became much more prevalent after the turn of the century. I'm assuming it's because it became easier to grow/farm it in the UK so smuggling of resin dropped off sharply.
