Saturday Afternoon
Home Sweet Home

Just thought I'd set up home in case anyone's wandering past...
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 12:11, 132 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
I've been out.
It wasn't nice, so I thought I'd hide indoors for a few hours.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 12:14, Reply)
Have fun hanging, Al.

We have some sunshine here, care to join me?
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 12:46, Reply)
Hi Moniker!
I'd love some sunshine, so yes.
Don't like it hot, but all this humidity is very wearing.
*lies down for another rest*

What are you up to today?
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 12:54, Reply)
I'm going climbing in a bit.
Not sure how that'll go after all the cycling I've been doing but hey, always worth a try! And then my mummy and daddy are taking me out for a belated birthday dinner to a place of my choosing. Happy days :)
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 12:57, Reply)
Sounds like a lovely day
both of you! I absolutely love Saturdays that are a little bit busy and a little bit relaxing too.

I too shall be pottering in and out of here. I need to get a few little things done.

hello!
Just thought I'd stop by and say hello.
I'm making a birthday card from hard core porn.
I got some very strange looks from the man in the newsagents when I walked up with my copy of 40filth and 50+sluts.

What a delightful idea! I hope you have fun selecting your pictures.

I think we should be allowed to see a picture of the finished product. I'm sure it will be a work of art.

Some of the adverts for chat lines are so wrong. I've been sick in a my mouth a few times. Funny though!
I'll take pictures when it's all done :D

Hello everyone.
I have been very busy this morning. In keeping with last weeks qotw, I have been experimenting on which music is best to clean the house to.

Intelligent Drum and Base FTW.

I'm never, ever drinking again.

Me and a mate surprised a friends hen do by turning up and papping them. Then we met her fiance and ended up having a sort of warm up stag night.

I now think I'm dying.

How are we all?

Afternoon all
I have had 14 hours sleep and feel magnificent :) Something tells me I needed it.

@DiT
fine work young man!

@becky. I haven't slept that long for years. You must have been one tired chick. Still, at least you're all rested for weekend sheningans!

Edit: 'lo miss ancrenne!

@sorry ancrenne
My shitty spelling again.

Yes your right.

I tried dance music but it just made me want to grab the nearest gay man and dance round the kettle.

@BGB you should have had a kitchen rave!

@Wanderlust
Good idea....maybe tonight.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:04, Reply)
Indeed fine work DiT
I remember revising my GCSEs to Prodigy and in the exam being unable to remember the answers without tapping out a rhythm on the desk. Everyone else must have loved me in exam halls :)

I haven't slept that long for a few weeks Wanderlust, but I've been averaging 6-7 hours sleep a night for a few weeks so as I have today off I figured it was a good idea to not set my alarm clock and just see how long I could sleep for. I'm supposed to be a the Innocent village fete today, but the weather doesn't look too shit hot, so think I'll give it a miss.

Your Birthday card Pr0n sounds rather amusing. Good friend?
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:05, Reply)
@ancrenne
Rock, indie and punk is no good.

I get ratty, get the urge to throw the duster in the bin and go out and get something pierced.

Edit - also Ipod problem sorted. You just download the new software off the website and it keeps your songlist intact. Now why can't it just tell you that on the website for us numpties.

I've done it for a few other people and each time I have to make it more filthy, to the point where it's just offensive.
I feel quite bad about buying into the whole porn thing, but then I come across gems like "Old Dear Hunter...More slack fanny than you can shake a stick at."
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:09, Reply)
If I come home
and am greeted by the Pet Shop Boys blaring out at high volume, I know my gay flatmate will be cleaning, so it doesn't seem so bad.

His music taste is pretty good, despite this.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:11, Reply)
@Wanderlust
I never keep b/day cards but about 18 years ago 2 male friends made me a b/card from bits of comics etc. I still have it. I lost touch with the guys long ago but I'll never throw that card away.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:14, Reply)
I would say will you make me one
for my birthday, but not sure how I'd react. Will settle for cake instead ,)

Ancrenne, thanks :) Get some Marion on, best happy Indie of the 90s to wiggle to.

Edit: Clendrix you're lucky. My first gay flatmate had Kylie and Madonna blasting out permanently and the second runs a Eurovision website, so you can guess the kinda shit that I'd hear at 7am, then 7.10am, then 7.20am and then no more as I'd storm in to kill his alarm clock. Sweetest guy in the world apart from that though :)
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 15:14, Reply)
@BGB I love homemade cards!
Becky, I could make you a tame one. Or one full of kittens and bunnies and sunshine and happy things!
Not all the cards I make are porn.

Lust: Well if you want to make one
then anything you think would be lovely to receive. Not fluffy bunnies and kittens though as I have plenty of them already and they make me feel a bit sick when I get them on cards as they're too saccharine.

Ooh, just had an idea, will gaz you :)

I need to get dressed and hit the shops

@clendrix
Do you usually release monsters (flamboyant or otherwise) in other people's minds?

@ancrenne
Glad you got the shelf done. Bodging it somehow goves it that personal touch.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 16:26, Reply)
Sadly they aren't my acquisitions
A friend has just bought his first house, and is moving in.

So today we built the dining table, 4 chairs, a cabinet and fitted doors to it that didn't really want to go on it, one sofa, and most of another sofa.

And he gave me Irn Bru for helping out. It made me happy.

I have just read all the thread, and everyone seems to be having rather productive saturdays.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 16:29, Reply)
@Spak
I merely create monsters. Where they go after that is their own business!
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 16:33, Reply)
^ ^
Now there's a concept. You create monsters, plant them in other peeople's minds, and they then throw them out and let them run amok in the wild.

Anyway, the weather's cooled down to something manageable so I'll be productive. May pop on here later.

I have the flat to myself - I'm trying to persuade my friend, currently wrestling with a hangover, to entertain me, possibly by getting drunk again (he's very skilled). Failing that, pointless movies and popcorn.

Mrs Bin - did you see him? Useless lump that he is, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to shout abuse at him. He's doing a crap job of it all, but I suspect my attempts would be somewhat worse...

No we didn't

Evening
Someone at work changed a word in the sign advertising Huntman's Pies. Original read, "Layers of pork and chicken in a pastry case," modified version read "Layers of porn." A really middle class woman who was there with her two darling children was almost apoplectic with rage when she pointed it out to me. When she walked off, two old dears who were sitting nearby said to me, "Don't know what she was complaining about, it gave us quite a laugh when we noticed it earlier on."
I suspect that they may have done it. What do you lot think?

I have started on the wine so I may giggle a little in a while

Started on the wine ....
and didn't pass it around - I thought better of you BGB.

I could use a drink - I gave in to teenage angst and allowed my daughter to have her belly button pierced. I had to be there 'cos she's under 18. I almost barfed. She was fine.

Pass the booze, there's a love...

Yay for piercings.
Yay! for mummies.

Here have a glass....I think you need it.

Wait till she wants a clit peircing : )

Clit piercings sound like one of the most painful things ever.
*winces.
Red or white wine?
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 19:57, Reply)

I don't even want to think that far ahead. Once she's 18 she can pierce anything she likes, provided she neither tells me nor shows me.

Her wee sister came with us, purely to see if the big one screamed or not! Callous little sod.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 19:58, Reply)
It's a light bodied red with cherry and plum flavours.
I can drink a whole bottle and still function the next day - Woo!

I meant clit hood piercings. You've got to be pretty hardcore to get your clit peirced.

Edit - WW - don't worry about piercings. As long as their looked after then your ok. They can always be taken out with little or no evidence that they've ever been there.

Now tattoos are a different story.
(, Sat 2 Aug 2008, 19:59, Reply)
WW
Well, if my sibling was getting their belly button pierced, I'd probably do the same. Does that make me a bad person?

We will be cleaning the thing thoroughly twice every day to avoid any nasties.

PSAP: no, it makes you a normal person. I didn't have an older sister and my brother never got any piercings. If he had, I'd have wanted to be there!

Still sounds painful.
Saw a bloke the other day with tribal-type tattoos all over his face - must be interesting going for a job interview.

Then I could be a bit more daring with the piercings etc. I'm lucky that I work for my dad but eventually he'll retire and then I'll have to go for job interviews again. : (

Peach schnapps - sounds sickly.

Awesome
The girls on either side of me actually jumped at several points. I loved it so much it made me do the happy.

It is already up there with my favourite films ever.

And I want a cape.

I just love it all
Can't think of a bit I don't like.

I should probably go do that sleepy thing soon, need to get up relatively early tomorrow.
