Marrning. That Lego QOTW turned out rather amusing. Well done little Battered. When did something turn out ok, when you thought it might be a bit crap? YM obviously.
I' m wearing my new Doc Martens today for the first time. This pleases me, what rocks your life today? Or what pisses on your chips?

alright BP
I'm listening to Rhythm & Stealth for the first time in about ten years. It's aged alright and I reckon I prefer it to Leftism.

I was expecting it to have aged terribly. Much like YM.

Good morning Pookie. Good morning everyone. Most things I worry about eventually turn out to be good, and sometimes even 'fun', so I live in a perpetual state of fear and surprise.
I might buy another pair of boots today. That's interesting innit? As far as the 'chip pissing' goes I have a headache because beer.

We went to a wedding the other day that was held in a Holiday Inn, on a Sunday.
A couple of days before it, we were all asked to bring some music if we'd like some played, "Or we'll just put a couple of our favourites on repeat if you're not that bothered". They appeared to be only a couple of millimeters from telling us to bring our own booze.

However, by 10pm I was downing shots with the groom and his mates, and it all went rather swimmingly.

Which was nice.

It was 13C at 6am this morning, and tomorrow's Friday - that pleases me.

Altalt: YM, obviously.

The own music thing's not a bad idea, better than having to listten to some cunt of a dj.

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 8:38, Reply)
or, you know, give the DJ a playlist.

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 8:44, Reply)
Pay an overpricex gimp to stick shit cds on? Or lisren to what you and your mtes want?
No contest.
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 8:59, Reply)
guests are there to enjoy themselves
Not to handle the entertainment.

Jeez, why don't you go and get a voucher for Pizza Express.

Hiring a band is the only correct answer

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:04, Reply)
Did you hire Devo to play 'Mongoloid' at yours in celebration of you and your woman's condition?

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:06, Reply)
Good idea.

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:09, Reply)
Well oddly this is what we thought.
Mrs V and I initially thought they were only asking us (people often ask us to do the party tunes for some reason), but as it was they'd asked everyone, which meant that everyone had a vested interest in the music.

Which worked very well.

There's a DJ at one of our local pubs who - sadly on a Monday - will play any 45 you bring along. A similar idea - shame it's a Monday, that's all.
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 8:44, Reply)
...'play any 45'...
Do people still have those?
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:06, Reply)

Quaint?! It's retro-chic.
Go-od ... I bet you don't even have an iPhone 9 ...
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:17, Reply)
Retro-chic? iPhones?
Pah!! I'm so retro I have a Nokia 3310
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:19, Reply)
That is pretty retro actually.
I seem to remember someone on QOTFW singing their praises, saying they'd run over theirs, dropped it in a sink full of washing up, and had paint spilled on it or something, and it still worked, and while it doesn't support kitten videos, it's battery lasts a week.

Bloody povvo.
(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:21, Reply)
After the nuclear holocaust the only things left will be cockroaches and Nokia 3310s

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 9:27, Reply)
You have shit, pikey friends

(, Thu 31 Oct 2013, 8:48, Reply)
I know. Which reminds me - ever seen one of their graves?
There are some magnificent ones. VERY expensive - and all boxing gloves, and photographic likeness carved into the headstone, and bright, colourful stone rosaries adorning them.

No expense spared - very tasteful; very classy.

Family 'do' last night - first one since G/F's mum survived a stroke. Went rather well.
Today is payday, I'm on a week's leave so I might well have lunch at a pub. Since April there have been no chip/urine interface occurrences, so that's nice.
