How successful do you think you'd be if you'd done a proper degree in the first place?
I did 6 months of a joint honours history and English degree, felt it really helped me on my path.

no different
because the law conversion is only a year, so it just delayed things by a year. can't do the law conversion without a first degree.

i guess if i'd had to pay fees for the degree or the law conversion (my firm paid those), i'd have found it more of a waste.

Is it not different if you go straight I'm to law?
Or am I being stupid?

law is a 3 year degree, then you do your LPC or your BVC depending on whether you are solicitor or barrister
non-law, you do your degree, then 1 year law conversion, then LPC or BVC

so not much difference really

Sounds a bit OTT

Surely 3 years of law is better than 1 year of law and 3 years of something else?

no, not really
by the time you've been doing it a while, you don't use all the other bits. I haven't touched any of the modules except property and litigation for years.
