Hope you had a good flight back.
I've been copying and backing up stuff between my computers, and eating salmon. Good stuff.

Why did I watch Grave of the Fireflies?
Depressing as hell, and my grilfriend hasn't texted back which gets me paranoid, so now I'm sad:(
This may be resolved by Jack Daniels.

What's all this about rain and drizzle?
It's a lovely sunny day up here north of the wall.
Incidentally, my American friends always laugh at the use of the word 'fair' in weather forecasts over here. In the US, if the weather's fair, it means they have a clear, cloudless blue sky.
Here, it means the rain has stopped!

Hello!
Late start due to last night spent at fellow b3tan's house watching a selection of weird and entertaining movies until 3am.
Just back from more beers with a different friend watching the GP and generally slobbing around. I only just realised, during the end of the last season of Peep Show that I loved it - thankfully friend has all seasons on DVD and these are now in my bag.
*prepares for peep fest*

So far has been spent sleeping until 12:30, scratching around a bit and then working on the 10 minute presentation I have to give tomorrow morning as part of my attempt to get a promotion and an extra £300 a month...
I've just read my notes back and it lasts exactly 10 minutes... I am a genius.

mostly we were just frustrated that my hands were tied as I can't do anything nursewise without someone standing over me as I'm not yet registered as a student nurse. They know and I know that I'm more than capable of drawing up meds, administering them, assembling drip lines, etc...but I couldn't do any of it without the one only nurse who was working flat out or the one and only vet who was busy with consults.
Edit: They were very nice to me and glad that I was there to help out, so that's all I could ask for really Mrs Liveinabin :)

That is a bit strange! Age differences either way mean nothing on paper - it's all about the people and whether it works or not, so if her mum's going out with a much younger man, hurrah for her! However, bit funny for you!

i've just popped into work to complete this week's time recording. after a day spent with friends drinking pimms in the rain on my balcony, the entries keep ending up saying things like "advise claimant's solicitor on strategy draft without prejudice letter to client". feck.

c. feature fruit and vegetables
Never usually works, but it makes me feel better to have tried.
How's you?

I don't know that Sunday working is illegal, but it's certainly not to be recommended for most of us! (Emergency services, shops, lap dancing clubs, restaurants and the BBC are some exceptions)

Surely cider
counts as fruit? It started off life as apples.
I use the same logic with wine!
Cider seems to have become very popular of late. Everyone seems to be drinking Magners or Bulmers these days in pubs. I'm not a fan, myself.
OK, I'm off to brush my molars before bed. And the other ones whose names I forget.

Been for a massive Chinese.
Went to a pub.
Worked in a bar.
Slept a lot.
Been food shopping.
Played an explosively gory computer game.
Cooked some food.
So, yeah, pretty dull.
Gotta get up at 4 in the morning to give my family a lift to the airport.

'Ning all! I start work tomorrow and have Teh Fear that not even cuddles from Mr Maladicta could make better.

That's only the second time a girl has ever asked me that question!
I've got a nice black suit from Dorothy Perkins I panic-bought when I started to get interviews and a blue V-neck H&M top that shouldn't be too low-cut... all my shirts are in the wash because I forgot to put them in on Friday and then take them to Mr Maladicta's at the weekend, well done me :(
I didn't know M&S did their own version but judging by the adverts, I bet they're amazing...

Don't worry Maladicta, you'll be fine. They won't leave you alone on your first day. You'll have someone showing you the ropes for your first few days at least before you have to take the big plunge and go it alone.
*if you're as forgetful as I am, take notebook and pen with you to write stuff down as I always find the first few days where you're trying to take stuff in really stressful and forget most of it, then try to remember once the person has left and find myself in the shit*
Edit: Yup, they're rather lovely from M&S. Not as good as calippo's though. I still love them.

I'm on induction for the first couple of days, then get to go to Lille for the day on Wednesday as part of training, and after that am at Waterloo till it eventually moves back down to Ashford once the new department is ready.
The train times are proving to be interesting, too... I'm either going to get there an hour early or ten minutes late!

I didn't know about cherry Calippos either - sounds a tempting idea, the strawberry ones are crap and I've never forgiven Walls for getting rid of the lemon ones :( *ponders a bottle of cherry Tango from the vending machine*
It's all a bit up in the air at the moment admittedly - I don't have an exact date when I'm going to be going to Ashford and not Waterloo yet, but hopefully we should hear whether or not we can has flat tomorrow... if not, back to the drawing board, if we can, in by next weekend with a bit of luck!

Don't make little drawings of the people in the office...
Especially if you boarder them with skulls and pointy things.
That's not a good way to make friends.

I have no discernible artistic talent so they'd probably wonder what the hell it was!
Also, I'm amused by the sheer volume of CDC's on the seafront at Margate lately...

I just got the amazing feeling of noticing the tiny *click* as the date on my watch goes from yesterday to today...
Ah... Simple pleasures!
Maladicta, it doesn't matter how good you are at drawing, it's the sheer, tongue-out enthousiasm that'll scare them...

So...
I should stop the sex with "smaller weaker animals"?
Humans are both smaller and weaker than horses.
So are carp.
So are badgers.
I don't see the problem.

i v much admire your ability to stick to your principles. i've been veggie for 18 years but if i liked meat, i'd have snapped about 17 years, 11 months and 30 days ago!

but was veggie for about 8 years, exclusively as I didn't like the taste or texture of meat. Then developed severe anaemia and found I like bacon. So became meat eater again. Still not eaten steak though and doubt I ever will. Just looks wrong.
