I am on a commuter train to Canterbury accessing lovely b3ta from my phone.
Unfortunately, it being the summer, the train is also packed with small and loud children who are playing snap at Blessed volumes. And one of them just called the other a 'clumsy clot'. Are we trying to get our kids bullied? Thank feck for casual Friday and Finsbury Park tomorrow evening. It's 99% possible that I will at least make an appearance so you know I'm not a 50 year old librarian named Gerald.

Ah...
Would be great to see you!
If you turn up, I'll buy you a drink.
Can't get fairer than that.

oh
I live in canterbury. if you have time check out palace st - there's a nice place to get coffee down there that also serves alcohol. Other than that - I think it's mostly whitefriars - which sucks.

I like the word 'clot'
We use it as a euphemimsy for 'cunt' in our house...

Hello Gerald
Clumsy clot is brilliant! I can't wait to use that again after all these years.

Woo! Ahead of time, mine will contain the least amount of alcohol possible as the taste makes me feel sick :)

Nope.
I'm fairly new myself - just starting to post! And canterbury is nice - sometimes! Sounds like a hell of a commute though.

The commute is a bitch
but fortunately Eurostar are picking up my travel tab ;) they paid for a season ticket for me, because it's so far away and after this month I'm going to be based in Ashford anyway.
I like Canterbury; the cosy little pubs and the shops are great, plus I came here for uni, but the other half grew up there and in Thanington and in Whitstable and he hates it!

Personaly I'm looking for something outside kent sometime soon - and I get why your other half doesn't like tankerton or whitstable much! Place is basicaly dead. Mind you they had a bowling alley there last time I went - and bowling after a few drinks is somehow very funny indeed!

Something like that, yes... it came about as Tourette's spazzed something all over the kitchen, and I immediately wanted to blurt out "Clumsy fucking cunt..." (it's a term of endearment - honest, and part inspired by a fabulous documentary about a kid with Tourette's Syndrome called 'The Boy Can't Help It). However, Sweary Junior was about and so 'cunt' was replaced by 'clot'.
It's stuck ever since.
I'm going to Hull, aren't I?

Personally
I like the use of 'Blessed Volumes', perhaps there could be a scale used to measure Blesseds with a similar measurement system to the Richter scale- e.g 0.5 Blesseds= A foghorn and 1 Blessed= Something coming from the man himself?
Far more useful than decibels as you've got a universally known example as the most extreme example to use as a reference point.
