yeah I searched Amazon UK for cassoulet dish and found 1 entry
that gets iffy reviews.

This seems more like it: www.amazon.co.uk/Jamie-Oliver-Tefal-Anodised-Roast/dp/B004P3UIZU/

Essentially any cast iron pan will do the trick
make sure it doesn't have plastic handles.

Sainsburys were having a sale on Le Creuset style stuff a few weeks ago
Might still be on

Hmm, cast iron then
www.amazon.co.uk/Andrew-James-Enamel-Coated-Casserole/dp/B008FXK3T2/

Decent reviews. At least I know what I'm looking for now, thanks internet!

That should be fine.

I should clarify that I have done that fucking numbnuts move of
thinking the iron pan would be fine in the over and forgetting that it was a cheaper one with plastic handles.

Yeah, found one that got great reviews but alluded vaguely to a max temp for the oven
finally found a comment that mentioned 140C, seems a bit low for most recipes.

Yeah its easier to just avoid them,
However you will now make the other stupid move of forgetting when its on the hob that the handles are now very hot and you will burn yourself at least once
