I was at a car hire place in Atlanta a few years ago and the silly
bird behind the desk asked for my passport and where I was from.

I told her the UK and she says, "Geeeee, I've never met anyone from the UKRAINE before!" Silly fat bint.

This very thing happened to me in a taxi in New Orleans.
Cabbie asked where we were from, we say UK, he hears Ukraine. I don't think Americans use the term "UK" very often.
