She has a lot of friends up there that she is in regular contact with - a lot of extended family as well.
She stopped me from seeing micro again on Friday & my solicitor is currently trying to negotiate contact for this afternoon.

it sounds to me as if Edinburgh is a response to your suggestion of shared access. however, it might well be one that she could pull off, given her connections up there.

It's definitely a response to that. Problem is, if I'm lucky it would take 4 months to get the court to consider an application; she could up & go at any point.
