I'm fab ta
I'm watching the Hairy Bakers. (I love baking)

Can you make pants that don't go up your bum please?

Stop panicing.
I'm here, so all is well with the world.

I've been out in the field
My brother and his mates made a pipe bomb out of sparklers.
Like this:

Except it kinda went wrong, and looked like a pretty Roman Candle.

Good work lads...

Evening all
I'm predictably knackered and have forgotten all the stuff I intended to do once I got home, so am replying to emails I forgot to reply to at the weekend while I try to remember what I was going to do.

How is everyone?
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:10, Reply)
Work is good
but we're hella busy at the moment and one of our nurses is leaving on Wednesday. We've got a H&S inspection this week, then two RCVS inspections next months, so it's all a bit manic there getting everything ready for it. Plus I'm rabbit sitting which is nice, but adds two hours to each working day.

Still celebrating your good news from Friday?
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:14, Reply)
evening chaps!
how is everyone tonight?
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:15, Reply)
I'm fine thanks
Doing some design work for a mate and listening to BRMC.

How about you?

'Ning all
and does anyone know how to set up an account with BT when you don't know the phone number, just the address? Ditto EDF (we have to stick with the suppliers we were given, it's part of the contract) and anything else, fortunately we have no gas... it's driving me crazy and limited internets at work are making it even harder!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:19, Reply)
@ Maladicta
Just phone BT on your mobile and tell them the address. Doesn't matter what the phone number is.
As for EDF, you'll just need the MPAN number of the meter.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:22, Reply)
Make lists
and prioritise that way. It's the only way I can remember to do things and then do them in a logical order. Feels good being able to cross stuff off them as well :)

Edit: Hi Mrs L, Maladicta, Kaol and Kirst
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:27, Reply)
Oh God!
Lists are dangerous in the wrong hands!

*runs and hides*
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:28, Reply)
^ I've tried ringing BT but they left me dangling for ages on very little credit.
With a bit of luck Mr Maladicta is headed flatwards sometime this week and can look for any BT stuff we may need, because I need it to set up internets, too, and my usual link to the workings of BT has tonsil AIDS currently.

Bon Swarr
I've been to the pub, the very same pub I was at the other night when Maladicta was broken.

Maladicta? You still there? How are you, darling? All mended?
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 21:55, Reply)
How and why
did you break Maladicta?

Edit: Woo hoo Frighteners is just starting :)
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:00, Reply)
Hurrah for throwing drink in the bin
*opens mouth*
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:03, Reply)
Oh dear...
you weren't here for the story of Wheely Man.

Wheely Man is an annoying guy in a wheelchair who pestered Wookiee and me at the pub the other day. It involved a long diatribe from him, resulting in Wookiee telling him he seems to have an autistic spectrum disorder. I was nearly ill.

When Maladicta was out with us on Thursday night, we saw him and ran away, but poor Maladicta did not see the pavement and fell, hurting her ankle badly.

I had to buy her a pasty. Wookiee got her some frozen peas.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:03, Reply)
^ This is all true.
Thank you for the link Bin my dear :) that will help!

@ clendrix: ankle's nearly all better, the GP fobbed me off with anti-inflammatories because I went as a temporary patient and I have cleverly left them at Mr Maladicta's. Teh boss was fine with it, thankfully :)
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:16, Reply)
We do!
We took Maladicta to Charing Cross station in a cab to put her on the train and even though she was in pain, she still managed to squeal excitedly when we went past Trafalgar Square.

In fact, it was sighting the BT tower that made her fall over in the first place. These tourists...

Edit: Maladicta, glad you're OK honey - get that bloody physiotherapy referral!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:17, Reply)
I think that's what I get for my hatred of tourists in Pervland and Canterbury.
Ooo, is that the BT tower? *splat*

Once I get moved over to Ashford (and sort out all the utilities, which is taking forever, especially with no free internets at work - even going on the EDF site today got me blocked!) I promise I will go for physio :)
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:18, Reply)
Pfft...
Bloody tourists...

I'm glad you're ok though :p
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:20, Reply)
Evening all!
I'm back home after spending a nice(?) night out with Clendrix and Wookie!

We didn't see the The Wheelie Man, and I'm glad.

Maladicta I hope your ancle gets better soon, then you can come out more often and maybe I'll be there as well!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:25, Reply)

Herr Dr.
You're on my list.

I'm hoping that I'm not on your 'Face Rape' list!

But then again it would be the best offer I've had in a while!

Hmm...
I hereby declare that I shall kiss you.
Once.
No tongues, so don't even try it.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:32, Reply)
Dok
I hope that (?) after 'nice' relates to Wookiee and not me.

He was very badly behaved tonight.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:32, Reply)
Wookiee
told me to fuck off at least three times and made rude gestures with his middle fingers on several occasions. He also discussed circumcision, anal fisting and Blur.

Wrong.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:36, Reply)
Fisting eh?
*keeps quiet*
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:36, Reply)
I think he likes it, Kaol.
Sort him out on Saturday.

I feel safe because he's not b3taing tonight - he's doing something with some Germans in his bedroom.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:38, Reply)
Look
circumcision is actually fine and anal fisting has its, er, well anyway...

but Blur?

/worrying

Edit: I live with a gay man. I am no stranger to tales of lube-related activities.

@ Dr Minge
I am looking forward to meeting you - Wookiee mentioned your escapades a few time the other night! I'm still in London till at least the end of September but am unable to make weekend bashes :( and hopefully I will not be broken next time!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:41, Reply)
Aww *blushes*
thank you Kaol :)
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:42, Reply)
BLUR?!
I missed that.
My brain stopped reading at "fisting".

Fuckin' Blur... Crap-haired shite-mongers.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:42, Reply)
I what way
was the Wookie not nice tonight? I want to know, even it was about me! Coz I'm the nicest person EVAR!

Kaol - you can kiss me anytime you want, without tongue off course.

Clendrix you are indead the queen of the London Dinking Bashes, nobody could take your place! And you are very NICE.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:44, Reply)
Admittedly
it was me singing along to Oasis in the pub that initiated the rude gesture and howls of hatred.

We then embarked on a Blur v Oasis argument that was about 12 years out of date.

TBH, I don't think either of us particularly likes the one we were defending, but don't let that stop you, Kaol!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:45, Reply)
Right then...
*wanks* *winks*

It's on.
And you don't even have to buy me dinner first.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:45, Reply)
Dok
he was OK really!

We're all lovely!

Edit: Dok gives nice hugs. FACT.

Just gaz me when you want to be broken some more!

You're all too dead sexeh for me
so I'm off to bed, but I shall awake with hope that you'll all be arsing around on here as usual tomorrow.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:54, Reply)
OK
I'm not that sure that it'll make Kaol's evening.

I'm getting a bit paranoid about meeting up with you lot know! Please tell me why I shouldn't be thus!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:56, Reply)
@ minge
I'm at Waterloo 5 days a week at the moment for an indeterminate length of time, infuriatingly - will be finishing there anywhere between early September and the 26th when all my colleagues get laid off and the department moves to Ashford run by ... me and others. Eep.

Problem is I have no internets at work and so have to cram all my b3ta-ing into the few hours before bed :(

Edit: night clendrix!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 22:58, Reply)
You shouldn't be worried
Because I'll have my sensible*, non-drinking**, dull*** lady-friend there to keep me in check.

I so wish I could come now.
But my days are going to be filled with packing and moving. Wah.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 23:14, Reply)
^ That sounds like my kind of packing!
Reminds me of what I was doing to move to Pervland a couple of years ago.

I'm going to do as much of it as I can in dribs and drabs so I can leave myself with the bare minimum of stuff here before I make the big move to Ashford and check out of here... and need b3tadrinkies because Mr Maladicta is so stressed out :(
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 23:23, Reply)
Yay for peas!
And wheely chairs... though perhaps we should check the pub for Wheely Man first depending on where we go!
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 23:46, Reply)
Evening all
It would appear that you're all looking forward to the bash then. What a surprise.

I saw my friend who is just back from Tanzania tonight. He brought me back a spear. Awesome.
(, Mon 18 Aug 2008, 23:56, Reply)
@ PoD
How the hell did he get a spear into the country?
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:00, Reply)
@ ancrenne
I've always wondered what I'd look like as a blonde :) and if we went to the same pub maybe I wouldn't get stared at by that other dude again (clendrix and wookiee had to warn him off when I went to the loo).
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:01, Reply)
I am good m'dear
I had a great weekend in NIreland, despite the weather, with some absolutely hilarious people. Great fun.

Apparently it's quite easy to get them back in to the country, which is a good thing I suppose.

Quite a tale from the London pub's it would appear.
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:04, Reply)
It was quite weathery
But from what I saw on the news today, we had it much better than I thought we did. We didn't suffer from any flooding, or powercuts, or anything of the sort.

Had a brilliant night, despite splitting my forehead open on a car boot half way through the day.
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:10, Reply)
Yeah it's fine
It bled for a while, but stopped after a bit. Was in my hairline too, so hidden from view. There were lots of trainee medics about, so if it had been really bad I would just have got them to check it out.

But hopefully no long term damage, maybe even a cool scar though. Apparently chicks dig the scars.
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:16, Reply)
I'm gonna go with circular saw
Sounds coolest. And most likely for me.

How was your festival, apart from being rather wet and leaving a bit early?

Has everyone else disappeared?
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:22, Reply)
Sorry, been doing stuff.
I'm back now, kinda.
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:26, Reply)
The muse has hit me, it must be a planetary alignment.
I'm being inspired to rewrite a parody piece I wrote in school that will make no sense to literally anyone who didn't go to the same sixth form as me, but it makes me laugh and this time Stalker Boy can't cock it up. This can only end badly.
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:33, Reply)
^ Well, now I'm allowed to do it myself,
it won't have any in-jokes in it, and the characters are more caricatures than anything; they are based on real people, but I've exaggerated them to a ridiculous degree, so it's suitable for all, including b3tans!

*is tempted to take her laptop on the train to work tomorrow*
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:39, Reply)
Er...
Just stuff, you know?
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:42, Reply)
I specialise in exaggeration.
Mr Maladicta doesn't find my style of humour particularly funny, so it's nice to have an outlet!

@ Kaol - you sound like me trying to not let my parents in on what I was up to that I shouldn't have been doing as a teenager...
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:46, Reply)
I'm having
Excellent fun with my stuff, thanks...

*grins*
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:47, Reply)
Aww, I'm wearing old clothes
kitteh can dribble on me if she likes.

Well, I think private schools naturally attract stereotypes :) so it's not much work to exaggerate them further!
(, Tue 19 Aug 2008, 0:59, Reply)
:O Where do you get your corsets?
I could do with a non-pricey corset as my old one is ripped and has been in Mr Maladicta's receipts drawer for some time.
