Renovations
I'm sitting on a cushion, huddled in the doorway of my bedroom as the stupid builders have cut the electricity to all but 1 plug in my flat.
I have no music, food or comfiness. I do have a beer though.
Anyone whose had builders work on their flat tell me it's all worth it in the end!

it is worth it
the annoying thing about the work I'm having done on my house is that I'm having to do it
I grouted maybe 2/5 of one wall of tiles in my bathroom this evening.
I'm not 100% happy with it and I'm certain I will have to go over all of it again once it has dried and shrunk...
I'd rather some other bugger was inconveniencing me for a couple of days but were going to do a good job!

I have the builders in at the moment...
Not only do I have no kitchen - I also have precious little in the way of wall where the kitchen was.
I do have rather a lovely collection of filth and dust all over everything, though.
And, since I'm going to be refitting it myself, but will be out of the country until the second week of September, it's likely that I won't have a functioning, clean kitchen until the middle of next month.

Brilliant
Now I'm really looking forward to the builders twatting about in my bathroom for a month or so.
I know it needs to be done, I just wish it wasn't the case.

It probably will be
We're just about at the end of loft conversion, new kitchen, pleastering downstairs and new shower being fitted and bathroom tiled work.
By the end of the week we should have our flat back and some much needed extra space. Living in a building site was fun at first, now it's a pain in the arse having to climb over stuff just to get to your toothbrush...
