Aviation, navigation, communication.The pilot will have attempted to fly, find a safe landing area and then would have communicated his distress. That is the order in which pilots are trained to respond to a crisis. He could easily have been overcome by whatever happened before he got to communication.
There is a lot of stupid speculation around this crash.
